Marci
began her professional photography career almost 10 years ago. As
a studio owner in Los Angeles she worked with many high profile
clients including Olympic gold medalist and hockey great Rob
Blake of the Colorado Avalanche; NHL star Craig
Johnson of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks; and NBA star George
Lynch of the New Orleans Hornets. Other celebrity
clients include comedian Ron Pearson; the daughter
of renowned jazz singer Nancy Wilson; and the neice
of Raymond Chow, who founded Golden Harvest Productions
and discovered Bruce Lee.
Marci
has been commissioned to cover events across the US and abroad.
Her travels have included Dallas, Houston, Oklahoma City, Seattle,
Vail, Atlanta, New York, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Oahu, Shelter Island,
Cabo san Lucas, Hong Kong, Paris, Cöln, Hamburg, Zürich,
Milan, Prague, London, and Cairo. Her work has appeared in
such national publications as Studio Photography and Design,
The Knot, Bride's Magazine, Modern
Jeweler, The Wedding Expo Magazine, Here
Comes the Guide, Photo Insider, The
Rangefinder, and Seattle Bride.
She
has been invited to appear at dozens of speaking engagements for
professional photography associations across the US, in the Bahamas,
and the Phillipine Islands. At the 2000 and 2001 Wedding
and Portrait Photographer's International convention in
Las Vegas she appeared for Kodak before audiences of over 1,000
photographers. Since 1995 Marci has sat on advisory committees
and focus groups for national wedding album companies, camera manufacturers,
professional labs, and film companies.
In
1997 Marci co-authored a book on website design and began teaching
hands-on design courses tailored for professional photographers.
In 2001 she co-founded and taught at the annual International
Summit Workshop and Digital Photography Symposium in British
Columbia, Canada. Fellow instructors include celebrity wedding
photographer Gary Fong; Denis Reggie, whose clients include James
Taylor, Don Henley, Tom Clancy, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and John
F. Kennedy, Jr.; and Joe Buissink, who has photographed the weddings
of Brendan Frazier, Lauren Holly, Kelsey Grammer, Hilary Swank,
Jennifer Lopez, and Jessica Simpson.
In
2001 Marci co-founded the digital lab at Pictage, Inc.
and was named Director of Imaging. Today
Pictage is the nation's largest professional digital lab, and it
is recognized as the industry leader in digital solutions for the
professional photographer. Marci is a major shareholder and
continues to consult as needed on Pictage's exciting new projects.
In
2002 Marci opened her Seattle based studio MarciMAK Images.
Her work quickly gained recognition in the local wedding community,
and she was asked to join the exclusive Wedding Photojournalist
Association. In 2003 she was awarded second place
in the WPJA international photo competition in
recognition of her outstanding skill with natural light.
